Included in Your Charter
Included
All charters include ice, all needed tackle, fishing license, instruction if needed, fish cleaning and bagging and any frozen or cut bait. Live bait is included if we catch it, which takes approximately 45 minutes (depending on several factors), or you may purchase it that morning out on the "bait banks" for $20-$30 for a four hour trip, $40-$50 for a six hour trip and $60 for an eight hour trip. Many people like to buy bait quickly and get underway to the fishing grounds while others enjoy catching the bait themselves, but catching the bait takes time so if the bait boat is out there and "packing", it is a better value to just buy it and head out, but that is up to the customer. Live bait usually has to be procured every morning as it doesn't survive overnight in the warm water of the Destin Harbor.
Not Included
Not included in the charter are snacks and drinks or gratuity, but there is always bottled water in the forward cooler for anyone who wants them.
Cancellation Policy
Customer Cancellation
We understand that things happen and schedules change, but we are a seasonal charter operation and cancellations can cripple our business. Cancellations must be made 7 days prior (or longer) to your charter date to avoid any charges. Cancellations less than 7 days notice will be charged $200 deposit. No-shows will be charged the full charter rate for the booked trip.
Weather Cancellation
We are a weather-dependent business and most of the summertime we have beautiful weather with seas 3 feet or less, but if weather such as rough seas or thunderstorms threaten, the captain will cancel the trip and we can try to re-schedule. No money is owed or charged for a trip canceled due to weather, your safety is our priority. Only the captain can make a weather decision as to trip cancellation.

Destin Fishing Charters
Several styles and methods of salt water angling are offered and used depending on weather, season and species, experience and length of trip.
Everything from catching Snappers for dinner, having King Mackerels “skyrocket” out of the water behind the boat, to photographing a huge shark next to the boat before releasing it is possible.
The charter fishing boat Double Time is a 25 foot World Cat catamaran with twin 150 HP Yamaha engines (engines new in 2018!!!), a tower with a large hardtop for shade, modern, upgraded Simrad electronics with dual GPS/chartplotters, bottom sounder, radar, VHF radio, stereo, and all up to date USCG safety equipment.
This fishing machine has plenty of rod holders, a HUGE fish box, 34 gal. live well, and a porta-potty inside the large center console for the lady anglers. There is a 72 qt. communal boat cooler forward of the console always stocked with bottled water (and the Captain’s lunch) which guests may add to, but most people bring their own cooler, just make sure it is 50 qts or less to be able to sit up front.
During the summer months the two basic styles of fishing are bottom fishing and trolling.
Bottom Fishing
Bottom fishing over the natural reefs and wrecks is used for several species of snappers such as Red Snapper, Vermillion Snapper, Mangrove Snapper, Lane and the White Snappers (Porgys), as well as Triggerfish, Scamp, Sea Bass, Cobia and also the mighty Amberjacks. Live bait and cut bait is used for these critters depending on species.
Trolling
Trolling, usually with live bait, is used for the fast-swimming fish such as King Mackerel, Spanish Mackerel, Bonitos, Dolphins (fish, not mammals), sometimes even a bonus fish like a Blackfin Tuna or even a Sailfish.
If you have specific questions about a fish species please call Capt. Tim at 850.685.1932 to get the “lowdown” such as size limit or season.

“I have had many anglers through the years choose to go with Double Time Charters solely because it is a catamaran style vessel, which doesn’t rock and roll from side to side as much as a monohull boat in the same conditions, and the higher sides provide a drier ride as well.”
